Dudley STEM School in Battle Creek, Michigan is a Pre-K through 5th grade campus with a focus on STEM education. Led by Principal Tamara Jamierson, the school focuses on providing students with increased problem solving skills in a technology-led environment. Dudley, originally a regular elementary school, was morphed into a STEM school in 2011. The addition of renovations, interactive whiteboards, new science and technology labs, and the increased usage of mobile technology transformed the ways students learned in their elementary school environment. Additionally, the school has sought to emphasize hands-on, project-based learning. Dudley has a strong multimedia presence online, and it greatly encourages its students to participate in video creation as part of the daily news team or as part of their fifth grade "legacy projects" With a combination of a caring staff, engaged parents, and a renewed focus on hands-on STEM education, Dudley has reinvented its image in the community while preparing its young students to excel in science and math for the rest of their educational careers.
