The STEM Academy is a "school within a school," enrolling approximately 150 6th, 7th and 8th grade students in a range of core and elective classes. STEM focus programs include aviation, First Lego League robotics programs, tinkering, art, materials science, and Salmon in the Classroom. Partners include Michigan State University's Kellogg Biological Station, Pierce Cedar Creek Institute, Western Michigan University College and Engineering and Applied Sciences, and a special collaboration with the West Michigan Flight Academy.
