Preston Middle School is a neighborhood school of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math for all students. Preston believes that by building STEM competence and confidence in middle school, we can influence the numbers of STEM graduates from university and enable Colorado graduates to access high-paying STEM jobs here on the Front Range. Preston's STEM school model has 5 components; rigorous academics, professional networking, exploration and discovery, challenging extra curricular competitions, and research and service.
Preston hosts a summer program called the STEM Institutes (www.STEMinstitutes.org) for students and the STEM Educator Symposium (www.STEMsymposium.org) designed to bring STEM practitioners together to multiply their successes.
Preston is a John Irwin School of Excellence and the Intel School of Distinction in Science 2011.
